DreamHack have revealed information about both the open qualifiers and the closed one for the DreamHack ZOWIE Open Austin tournament which is set to take place from May 6-8. The journey of DreamHack ZOWIE Open in 2016 started in Leipzig, Germany as Natus Vincere took down Luminosity on two overtime maps and earned themselves $50,000. The second edition of the Open tour will be in Austin, Texas and it will feature six invited teams along with two qualified teams as DreamHack will be holding their first ever event in North America. To kick things off, a maximum of 512 teams will clash on March 26th in the open qualifier in a best-of-one format and eight of the last standing teams will obtain the chance to take part in the closed stage. The eight invited teams and the eight from the open stage will be facing off on March 27th in a best-of-three format.
The winners of the semifinal matchups of the closed stage will book their ticket to the Austin Convention Center where $100,000 in total will be up for grabs.
